Hi all

Here's a lovely show critique from a regular listener on the September 17th Show

1.Hoax                       Hipslicker from Big City Blues

Hipslicker~ Extremely sensual number with powerful overtones demanding a definite invitation in  musical form.

2.Big Scioty with the Buffalo Girls

“You Stay Home With The Baby~O”  A high spirited tune teasing my toes to tap out a number on the floorboards.

3.Ange Hardy          My Old Man~ from  Barefoot Folk

“You Won’t Find Greener On The Other Side”

Simply honest acoustic sound, with a clear and light-hearted voice bringing us the wisdom of the ages.

4.Caroline Herring “Long Black Veil” from Golden Apples Of The Sun

A somewhat mournful tune singing about one of life’s most painful events , that of the unfaithfulness of a lover.

5.   Ange Hardy                           “The Ghosts On The Moors”

Anges’ voice comes through clearly in this presentation of yet another of life’s darkest moments of feeling as if life is passing us by and no one has bothered to acknowledge one’s objective reality.

6. Blind Lemon Jefferson             'Prison Cell Blues'

This was a fantastic listening experience of hearing Blues in its purest, unadulterated form!

(WOW Richard this one is amazing!!! I feel like I’ve stepped back in time to sit in a honky-tonk pub)

7.Ange Hardy                               “Stop Your Crying Son”

A gentle plea is heard in this tender good natured “ditty” that of a mum entreating her wee babe to settle and cease his greetin’. J

8. James Findley                           “British Man O' War”

A universal theme of a loved one shipping out to dangerous lands to fight a foreign war, the sailor sounding eager to be on his way.

9 Ange Hardy                                    “She Moves Through The Faire”

(this is one of my favourite love songs Richard ) I love Ange’s singing of it!!!

Her voice is rich and full of feeling here!

10. Tom Waits                                    “I Want You”

Oh man Richard what a treat this song is. There’s  no second guessing intention on this one!

Thanks for another lovely show Richard! Have a great show tomorrow I’ll listen as I am able!
